Welcome to Gallivan Farms near Portland Oregon, this is a website detailing the transformation of a computer science guy into an organic farmer. Farming is not something you can just pick up, land and equipment is expensive. My path began on a slow course, turning the back .5 acres into a small CSA with an orchard and herb garden to accent the vegetable production. However, there were complications and money became an issue. New goals had to be set and now I’m working on getting money together for a new, bigger and better place.

During this process I will tell the story of how I will acquire the land, what I have to go through to realize this dream and finally, once the land is purchased, introduce the equipment I use and how I use it.
